The Challenge
Strachan, a local Fitted Furniture company, were highly dependent on paid traffic for all their enquiries – in some cases 98% of traffic was being purchased through paid search advertising.
This needed to be addressed and Strachan turned to Digital Welly to put a search engine marketing strategy and campaign in place.
Approach
Taking the already successful PPC campaign as a starting point we undertook exhaustive keyword research using our own proven process. In total we analysed in the region of 2500 keywords to find the terms we knew would drive enough traffic but more importantly were achievable to ensure we gave Strachan a return on investment as quickly as possible.
Re-building the website was not an option so we carefully and lovingly tweaked it to optimise it for our chosen keywords. Strachan’s customers certainly won’t notice any change in the website as we ensured our whole strategy avoided clunky chunks of content targeted at search engines and we were passionate about making the website look as natural as possible.
Working over the past six months with Strachan we have implemented a strong link building campaign and a secret recipe of other SEO techniques to deliver some excellent results.
Results
Since starting the campaign with Strachan we have increased natural search traffic by a staggering 354% and reduced the cost per enquiry through search engine marketing by over 55%. Not bad for 6 months work.
Achieveing a 6% uptake rate from email in such a competitive industry is no easy task.
